Astaxanthin is an oxygenated carotenoid derivative, responsible for the vibrant reddish-pink hue of the flesh in many crustaceans and marine animals. It exists in three distinct configurational forms, and its unique molecular structure significantly enhances its antioxidant properties. Astaxanthin protects cells from oxidative damage by reducing singlet oxygen, neutralizing free radicals, and preventing lipid peroxidation in cell membranes. It also improves inflammatory response by inhibiting the activity of inflammatory mediators. Non-medicinal Ingredients: Non-GMO safflower oil, medium-chain triglycerides (from coconut), bovine gelatin, glycerin, and purified water.
