Chromium is an essential trace mineral needed by the body for a number of vital biological functions, the most well-known being its role in blood sugar management.

While there is no clinically defined chromium deficiency, chromium content in food is heavily dependent on soil and water conditions, as well as manufacturing processes. For example, high sugar foods and dairy are usually low in chromium. Further, dietary absorption is low, from 0.4 to 2.5%. And many medications and vitamins can interact with chromium such as: ascorbic acid, prostaglandin inhibitors (aspirin) increase absorption, oxalate and antacids inhibit.

AOR Advantage
Chromium Picolinate is a specific form of chromium with bidentate chelate with picolinic acid, the form of chromium naturally used by the body.
